No Marco Island Airport? Here’s the Easiest Way to Get Here

When planning Flights to Marco Island, it helps to know there’s no direct Marco Island Airport—but there are excellent nearby options to make your trip easy. The four main airports serving the island each offer different conveniences depending on where you’re flying from.

Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW)

Located in Fort Myers, about 50 miles north (roughly one hour by car). This is the best airport for most travelers taking flights to get closer to Marco Island, offering the widest range of domestic and international service.

Naples Airport (APF)

Just 20 miles away, Naples is the closest airport geographically, though it offers limited commercial flights. It’s ideal for private charters and seasonal regional connections.

Miami International Airport (MIA)

About 100 miles east, MIA is a major hub for international visitors. The drive across Alligator Alley is straightforward and scenic.

Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL)

Roughly 115 miles away, FLL is another excellent option for global travelers who prefer a slightly smaller hub than Miami.

Reviewer Tip: If you’re landing at RSW, book your car or shuttle in advance—winter season demand is high, and options fill up fast.

Getting from the Airport to the Island

All four airports offer easy car rental and shuttle options. RSW and MIA have the best availability for one-way rentals, while APF’s advantage is proximity—just about 30 minutes to the bridge.

For a smooth start, use our Local Services Page and filter for ‘Transportation’ for current shuttle partners and parking info. Once you cross onto the island, parking is simple, and rideshares are available at all major hotels.

If accessibility matters, most shuttle services can arrange ADA-friendly vehicles with advance notice. For beach access points with mats and parking, see our Marco Island beaches guide.

Whether you fly into Fort Myers, Naples, Miami, or Fort Lauderdale, getting to Marco Island is part of the fun—the last stretch over the bridge always feels like you’re crossing into vacation mode. Once you arrive, the pace slows, the air smells of salt and sunshine, and everything you came for—warm beaches, good food, and easy days—awaits. Safe travels, and we’ll see you on the island.
