From a Simple Idea to a Thriving Coastal Business

In 2012, Allen Elefterion received a call from his sister with a business idea. She wanted to start a company renting Craig Cat boats to visitors exploring the island. The business began with just three boats, but demand quickly grew and soon required ten more.

As interest continued to rise, Allen expanded operations beyond Southwest Florida. Today, Go Cats on the Water operates in several locations including Marco Island, Amelia Island, St. Augustine, Palm Coast, and downtown Naples, about an hour from Marco Island.

Innovating for Safety and Guest Comfort

Early on, the owners of Go Cats realized the original Craig Cat boats weren’t providing the best possible guest experience. Riders would often get wet, and the boats could even flip over since they weren’t the sturdiest vessels on the water.

Seeing an opportunity to improve both safety and comfort, Allen partnered with a boat expert to design a better option. Together, they developed a completely new version of the boat built specifically to create a smoother, safer ride for guests.

A Patented Boat Built for Marco Island’s Waters

The redesigned boat was officially patented in late 2018. The improved Go Cat boats are safer, drier, and designed for the ultimate on-the-water adventure.

Their innovative design also allows guests to explore areas other boats simply can’t reach. The boats can travel through the narrow mangrove tunnels and Everglades backwaters in as little as eight inches of water, giving visitors a rare opportunity to experience Marco Island’s hidden natural beauty up close.
